Welcome to West Devon Chorale!      June 2021

We look forward to having you with us at one or more of the very exciting concerts which we hope to present during the coming months, our 21st Anniversary Season. Of course it has been a very difficult year for all performing groups and for us this has meant four cancelled events.

We now look forward to 2021/2022 and hope you like the look of our concert programme. We will be working hard to provide a safe environment for both our audience and performers.

Our season begins with a wonderful programme of European Choral Classics in Buckfast Abbey in October which features Bach's motet Jesu, meine Freude and Kodaly’s exciting Missa Brevis as the main works.

In December Sally Jenkins, the well-known Devon harpist, will be joining us for a performance of Britten’s superb Ceremony of Carols at our annual Music for Advent and Christmas concert. The programme will also feature seasonal music by three local composers, Terry Higgins, David Crocker and Clive Jenkins.

Next March 2022 the choir will perform Fauré's ever-popular Requiem as part of a Music for Lent concert and next June the season ends with a programme of British Choral Classics in St Andrew's Minster featuring John Rutter's Requiem.

This brief introduction to our website gives us the opportunity to thank our loyal audiences for their support over the last few years: we look forward to having you back with us this Autumn.
