Welcome to West Devon Chorale!      January 2021

We look forward to having you with us at one or more of the very exciting concerts which we hope to present during the coming months. 2020 was, of course, a very difficult year for all performing groups and for us this has meant three cancelled concerts.

We now look forward to 2021, our 21st Anniversary Season, and hope you like the look of our concert programme. We will be working hard to provide a Covid-Safe environment for both our audience and performers. Look out for our season leaflet which gives details of our four-concert subscription, where you can buy four concerts for the price of three.

Our season begins with a wonderful programme of English Choral Classics in St Andrew’s Minster on 26 June when John Rutter's Requiem will be the main work.

The choir is much looking forward to our annual visit to Buckfast Abbey next October which will be a varied programme of European Choral Classics and featuring Kodaly’s exciting Missa Brevis.

In December Emma Graham, the well-known Devon harpist, will be joining us for a performance of Britten’s superb Ceremony of Carols at our annual Music for Advent and Christmas. The programme will also feature seasonal music by three local composers, Terry Higgins, David Crocker and Clive Jenkins.

To end the season on 5 March 2022 the choir will perform Faure's ever-popular Requiem as part of a Music for Lent concert.

The future concerts page here gives details of the exciting programmes we have for 2021/2022. This introduction to our website gives me the opportunity to thank our loyal audiences for their support over the last few years: we hope you feel the events have been memorable and we look forward to seeing you again very soon.
